A simple green tea with fresh ginger and lemon that’s refreshing, easy to make, and naturally low in calories when served without added sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 green tea bag
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 23 thin slices fresh ginger
  • 12 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small cinnamon stick (optional)
  • Honey or another sweetener to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the fresh ginger slices to a cup of hot water.
  2. Let the ginger steep for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Add the green tea bag and steep according to the package directions, usually 2–3 minutes.
  4. Remove the tea bag and ginger slices.
  5. Add the fresh lemon juice and stir.
  6. Add a cinnamon stick or a small amount of honey if desired.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

Avoid steeping green tea for too long, as it can become bitter.

For a lower-calorie drink, serve it without honey or added sugar.

This tea contains caffeine because it is made with green tea. If you are sensitive to caffeine, choose a caffeine-free herbal tea later in the day.

This drink can be part of a balanced eating plan, but it should not be considered a detox treatment or a fat-burning remedy.
